One of the biggest online challenges Handicap International faced was the online flow of a single donation. Since they were using Facebook donations, any donation was first put into a financial account of Facebook, and only afterwards the money went from Facebook towards a Handicap International bank account. From a fiscal perspective this was rather problematic, as it was impossible to prove for a donor that his money went to a good cause.
Taking into consideration that the government reduces the fiscal tax income of the donor with 50% (of the donation value), this was a serious drawback. Let alone the commissions Facebook started to request for their online service.
Having recently built in the option to sell virtual services (like a training, a webinar, a consulting audit, ...) we decided this non-tangible service could perfectly fit the case of charity
too, and help charitable organisations to raise more money online. Since we support multiple Payment Service Providers, any charitable organisation can chose the PSP they personally prefer, and more importantly, select a PSP that have the right agreements with the fiscal authorities in terms of tax deduction.
The charity option in Shopitag is built in this way, that an organisation can perfectly administer what type of information they require from their donors. No involvement needed from our team, and with the wide range of payment options, this can serve both individual one-off donations, or recurring donations. Curious how the end results looks?
